TECHNOLOGY AND KNOWLEDGE-BASED BUSINESSES
The State of Oklahoma focuses on supporting development of high tech industries and is particularly sensitive to the financial needs of knowledge-based businesses.
The Oklahoma Department of Commerce is dedicated to helping Oklahoma firms expand and helping new firms find locations and financing.
The Oklahoma Center for Science and Technology, the Alliance for Manufacturing Excellence and Venture Capital Forum are all examples of Oklahoma’s investment in the growth of technology and knowledge-based business in the State.
In addition, one of the State’s major assets of value to knowledge-based businesses is its human resource base—an educated and dedicated work force. A large portion of this educated work force is in Stillwater and in the immediate region.

For knowledge-based businesses, Oklahoma resources and financing are available through:

TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND COMMERCIALIZATION
The State also offers strong support for knowledge-based companies through technology transfer offices at the comprehensive universities.
TECHNICAL TRAINING RESOURCES
Oklahoma also serves company needs through its career and technical training system—often cited as the best in the nation. Meridian Technology Center, an OTRP partner in Stillwater and a State training center, is adjacent to the Park.
